Our Early History
In 1923, François Lapointe drilled his first well and founded his company under the name F. Lapointe.
François’s son Conrad joined the business in 1936, helping it grow and install a total of 5,000 wells by 1972.
That same year, a third Lapointe generation brought their values of modernization and innovation to the table.
Conquering New Horizons
Soon after joining the company, Conrad’s sons André and Gilles launched new businesses:
- Les Pompes Lapointe et Frères, a turn-key solutions provider for individuals
- FTE Drilling an extension of the company’s operations in Canada, Africa and South America
In 1992, F. Lapointe et fils welcomed Les Pompes Lapointe et Frères under its banner. Both companies joined forces to become the gold standard in residential drilling in Quebec.
